Privacy Policy
Last updated September 4, 2026. Operated by Studio Ropewalk, LLC.
This policy explains what Jaypegery (“we”, “the site”) does and does not collect when you use jaypegery.com. It covers the images you convert, the ordinary data any web server records, and the advertising and analytics technologies operated by our third-party partners.
1. Your images are never uploaded
This is the part most visitors care about, so it goes first. Jaypegery is a static website. It has no application server, no database, and no file storage. When you drop an image into the converter, your browser reads the file from your own disk, decodes it in memory, re-encodes it into the format you selected, and hands the result back to your downloads folder. The bytes of your image never travel across the network, because there is no endpoint on our side that could receive them.
You do not have to take our word for this. Load any converter page, open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and run a conversion, and you will see no request carrying your file. Or simply disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded: every conversion still works, because the machinery is already running locally.
Consequently we do not store, back up, transmit, share, sell, index, inspect, or train any model on your images. We never have a copy to do those things with.
2. Information we collect directly
- Your images and their contents: none. See section 1.
- Accounts: none. Jaypegery has no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles, so there is no account data to hold or lose.
- Server request logs: our static hosting provider records standard web-server metadata for each page request (IP address, user agent string, referring page, and timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic counts. These logs describe requests for HTML, CSS and font files. They never contain image data.
- Contact form submissions: if you write to us through the contact page, the message, your email address and any name you supply are transmitted to and stored by Formspree, our form-handling provider, and forwarded to us by email. Formspree holds the dashboard copy for up to 30 days and then ages it out automatically. That is the retention limit on the plan this form runs on, and no promise we have to remember to keep. The notification email in our own inbox we keep only as long as answering you requires, and you can ask us to delete it sooner. Formspree’s handling is governed by its own privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
- Browser local storage: the converter may remember your last-used output format and quality setting in your browser’s own local storage so the dials are where you left them. That value stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
3. Advertising and cookies
Jaypegery is free to use and carries no paywall. It is funded by display advertising, which is what pays for the domain, the hosting, and the time spent maintaining it. That advertising is served by third parties, and those third parties set cookies and similar technologies in your browser. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
- If you have not opted out of third-party ad serving, the cookies of other third-party vendors or ad networks may also be used to serve ads on this site. A current list of vendors Google may work with is published at Google’s ad technology providers.
Advertising happens inside its own frames on the page. It has no access to the images you convert, which never leave your device in the first place. Blocking these cookies in your browser does not break the converter: every conversion feature works with advertising blocked.
4. Your rights in the EEA and UK (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Our lawful bases are: legitimate interest for security logging and aggregate traffic measurement; consent for personalised advertising cookies, collected through Google’s consent management platform before such cookies are set; and legitimate interest for answering messages you choose to send us.
Because we hold no account data and never receive your images, an access or deletion request generally concerns only a contact-form message you sent. Write to us via the contact page and we will act within 30 days.
5. Your rights in California (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell or share personal information for monetary consideration. Under the CPRA, the use of advertising cookies by third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising may be considered “sharing”; you can exercise your opt-out through the links in section 3 or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honour. California residents may also request disclosure or deletion of personal information we hold, which in practice is limited to server logs and any message you sent us.
6. Children
Jaypegery is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the site has no accounts and collects nothing beyond standard logs, there is no children’s data set to speak of. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, tell us and we will delete it.
7. Metadata stripped during conversion
A privacy note about the tool itself rather than the site: re-encoding an image through the browser canvas discards EXIF metadata, including camera model, lens, timestamps and GPS coordinates. For most people sharing photos online this is a benefit: the converted copy carries no record of where the picture was taken. If you need that history preserved, keep your original file; we never received it and cannot restore it for you.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because there is no server-side processing, no user accounts and no stored files, the usual catastrophic failure modes of an image converter (a leaked storage bucket, a compromised processing queue, an exposed database) do not exist here by construction.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of the page and describe what changed. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Contact
Jaypegery is operated by Studio Ropewalk, LLC, a limited liability company registered in North Carolina, United States. For privacy questions, data requests, or anything else, use the contact page, which reaches the developer directly. We answer privacy requests within 30 days.
